Carrier Relationship Specialist

Carrier Relationship Specialist responsible for maintaining strong relationships with transportation carriers to ensure efficient freight movement, service reliability, and operational support. Role focuses on carrier communication, performance tracking, issue resolution, and day-to-day coordination between carriers and internal logistics teams. Responsibilities include developing carrier partnerships, coordinating shipment communications, monitoring performance, assisting with rate negotiations and capacity, resolving delays and service failures, verifying carrier compliance (insurance, contracts, safety), onboarding new carriers, maintaining carrier databases, collaborating with operations, dispatch, and customer service, tracking freight market trends, and preparing reports on carrier performance and service metrics. KPIs include carrier response times, on-time pickup/delivery, carrier retention/satisfaction, issue resolution turnaround, and capacity fulfillment rates.
