Carrier Compliance Specialist

Job Summary
Conduct due diligence when qualifying new carriers to ELSI, ensuring they pass minimum requirements and maintain proper authority and insurance in the Powerbroker system. Scan and file all carrier documents, including insurance certificates and exclusions, into the EBE Scanning System and update email addresses for accepted carriers. Build and maintain the carrier base by monitoring safety ratings and violations through selected websites to minimize claims and ensure compliance standards are met. Generate daily and weekly reports directed by the Director of Shared Services and assist in company projects as needed. Continuously improve carrier files for accurate information and exceed Quality Management System audit expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test
- Professional, clean, neat appearance
- No convictions of serious crimes
- Travel as needed
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
Desired Qualifications
- College degree in transportation or related business field preferred
- Prefer 1-2 years related experience in transportation/trucking
- Good working knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office, Excel, etc)
- EDI, and/or McLeod software background helpful
- Excellent work history with proven track record
- Excellent data entry skills—accuracy is very important
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to read and comprehend general instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and speak before groups of employees and outside consultants and respond to questions/comments from the same
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Excellent oral, written, and listening skills
- Ability to plan and organize workload; attention to detail
- Ability to secure information from staff personnel and vendors
- Ability to integrate and analyze data
- Ability and flexibility to handle pressure and work with interruptions
- Ability to work independently; initiative
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
