Job Summary
Perform general and specific cleaning and maintenance tasks per a detailed cleaning plan to provide a clean, safe environment. Tasks may include snow and ice removal, cleanup related to water or fire damage, and special event support. Expected to clean 28,000–35,000 square feet per eight-hour shift, using standard tools, equipment, materials, and safety rules. Reports to the Custodial Floor Care Supervisor and may work alone or with others; responsibilities may be assigned by multiple supervisors and managers, including during emergencies. On-campus role at Georgetown University with a focus on professional custodial services and adherence to university policies; requires proper communication, punctuality, and completion of required training.
Required Qualifications
- HS or GED preferred
- One year of custodial work experience is preferred
- Must have valid and current driver’s license from Maryland, Virginia, or District of Columbia
- Must be able to read and understand product label instructions and University policies and procedures
- Must be able to relate custodial and maintenance problems clearly to supervisor and/or the Work Management Center
- Must be able to complete a training program in building cleaning
