Job Summary
Carpenter for Ventana Special Projects performing framing, formwork, backing, parapet framing, layout, and finishing; build/install panels, footings, walls, and stairs; read blueprints and specifications; operate hand and power tools; support site progress and timelines; mentor apprentices; collaborate with supervision and trades; uphold health, safety, and quality standards; travel across the Lower Mainland; participate in coordination meetings and maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment; contribute to project timelines and be part of a collaborative, growth-focused team.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of carpentry experience in a general contracting environment
- Experience with framing, formwork, and finishing
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, and general construction practices (site setup, pump setup, weather protection)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with reliable transportation and willingness to travel across the Lower Mainland
- Familiarity with WorkSafeBC regulations and a safety mindset
- Red Seal certification or active apprenticeship (Level 4 preferred) is an asset
- Leadership experience or ability to mentor/train apprentices is an asset
- OFA II and other safety certifications (fall protection) are assets
- Relevant equipment and safety tickets are assets
