Job Summary
Accomplish daily job reports, observe shift hours, and repair or construct furniture, fixtures, cabinets, counters, shelves, tables, and miscellaneous items. Replace door closures and locks, alter building structures including walls, partitions, doorways, window frames, stairways, and roofs, and install window glass, screens, ceramic tile, and wall or floor covering materials. Refinish furniture, paint and stain building interiors and exteriors, and operate hand saws, mortisers, drill presses, and wood lathes from drawings or verbal instructions. Estimate time and material costs, requisition new carpentry materials and equipment, and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program
- 0 to 5 years of experience
- Beginning to working knowledge of subject matter
- Above average verbal communication social and interpersonal skills
- Above average comprehension skills to follow safety regulations instruction and in interpreting building blueprints
