Job Summary
Install, maintain, and repair walls, flooring, ceilings, doors, fixtures, and hardware while performing journey-level painting, finishing, and maintenance on interior and exterior surfaces. Use power tools, read blueprints, and manage repair requests through the Work Order System to ensure compliance with local codes and safety standards. Respond to routine and emergency service calls, including after-hours and weekend availability, while traveling intermittently between store locations. Maintain inventory, operate painting equipment safely, and document all completed work.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of direct experience
- Must be able to respond to after hours and weekend calls (24/7)
- Able to travel between stores, as needed
- Must maintain a valid driver's license
- Strong knowledge of carpentry, painting, finishing, and general maintenance
- Proficiency in using power tools and handling materials safely
- Ability to assess and troubleshoot maintenance issues efficiently
- Capacity to work within the constraints of the facilities budget while meeting store maintenance needs
- Knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations
- Ability to safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects across different locations
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and business needs
- Effective use of work order systems for tracking maintenance and repairs
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with store management, employees, and team members
- Ability to provide clear updates on maintenance tasks, issues, and resolutions
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs
- Ability to stoop, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment

- Assist with all aspects of maintenance and repair within assigned facilities, including on-call availability
- Prepare, prime, sand, seal, patch, and paint interior and exterior surfaces, furniture, and fixtures using various painting materials, including varnish, lacquer, and latex
- Adjust colors as needed
- Apply tape and joint compound to repair sheetrock walls and ceilings
- Remove graffiti using appropriate products
- Install and repair wall coverings
- Operate, clean, and maintain painting equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and pumps
- Purchase and inventory equipment and supplies
- Estimate time and materials required for projects
- Erect scaffolding and use ladders safely in compliance with safety codes
- Store and label materials safely
- Adhere to state and local disposal requirements for hazardous materials
- Respond to routine and emergency service calls, documenting completed work in the work order system
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities
