Job Summary
Read and interpret construction drawings to determine materials and installation methods for resort furniture maintenance. Select wood and other materials, then cut and shape construction materials using manual and power tools like saws, joiners, and planers. Assemble materials with fasteners and adhesives, while preparing and protecting surfaces with stains, varnishes, or lacquer. Construct and repair furniture such as tables, desks, chairs, and cabinets, and install hardware including hinges and drawer pulls. Perform scheduled maintenance checks and respond to 24-hour emergency calls for off-duty repairs using various tools. Work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends to support guest experience at Nemacolin resort in Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands.
Required Qualifications
- minimum or an equivalent completion of a technical program
- three years of carpentry experience
- combination of education and experience
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with guests, vocational students and coworkers
- willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend duty
- ability to speak English
