Job Summary
Design, construct, remodel, retrofit, and repair interior and exterior structures using wood, drywall, plaster, concrete, or brick. Work with blueprints from the Site Superintendent to erect structures, join materials with fasteners, and build stairs or concrete forms. Utilize manual tools like chisels, saws, and drills while checking progress against quality standards and codes. Erect scaffolding, install partitions and windows, and ensure all safety standards are followed on construction sites. Perform duties as assigned across various job sites.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a carpenter in commercial or industrial construction (includes rough and finished carpentry)
- Must be open to performing physical activities (Lifting equipment up to 50 lbs)
- Demonstrated ability to use manual tools and equipment safely
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Have access to a personal vehicle and a valid BC Driver's license as you will be assigned to different jobsites
- Fall Protection Training is required
Desired Qualifications
- Red Seal or equivalent interprovincial ticket is an asset
- MEWP Certification and Skidsteer/Telehandler Certification is an asset
