Job Summary
Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to grasp job requirements, then take measurements and calculate material needs for fabricating and installing wooden infrastructure products. Cut, shape, and smooth lumber while prefabricating window frames and door bucks using various hand and power tools. Maintain inventory numbers, submit material requisitions, and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Keep the work area clean and safe. This role requires 2+ years of precast or construction experience and proficiency in carpentry techniques, tools, and technical documents. Applicants must possess an eye for detail, hand dexterity, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program
- 2+ years of precast or construction experience
- 2+ years of previous experience as a carpenter
- Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
- Great hand dexterity and an eye for detail
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Understanding of English language both written and spoken
- Understanding of basic math
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend/stoop throughout day
