Job Summary
Construct rough wooden structures, concrete forms, and temporary shelters by erecting, installing, and repairing wood and plywood fixtures. Follow safety rules, cooperate with superintendents and foremen, and read plans to place rebar, survey grid-lines, and form slabs and columns. Ensure structures are plumb, square, and true while maintaining excellent housekeeping and treating equipment with care. May weld metal parts and erect scaffolding for ground-level assembly. Work on physical job sites with varying hours, including potential night shifts, exposed to high temperatures, loud noises, and moving mechanical parts.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge and ability to use the following forming systems: Aluminum Gang Form, Simons, EFCO, Stick Frames, Wood Forms
- Good general knowledge of construction practices
- Ability to read and understand rebar plans and be able to place rebar curtains and mats
- Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
- Ability to survey grid-lines and elevations
- Regular attendance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, including equipment operational and/or safety manuals
- Excellent interpersonal communication and team work skills
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Close vision

- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ascending and descending ladders or stairs
- Movement on uneven terrain
