Job Summary
Construct rough wooden structures, concrete forms, scaffolds, and temporary shelters while following safety rules and cooperating with the Superintendent and Foreman. Erect, install, and repair wood and plywood structures, hang ledgers and decking, and form slabs, columns, and walls for concrete pours. Read and understand plans, specifications, and rebar layouts to place curtains and mats, ensuring all parts remain plumb, square, and true. Handle tools with care, maintain excellent housekeeping, and work with metric and imperial measurements. This role requires regular attendance, physical stamina for lifting up to 100 pounds, and may involve night shifts, varying hours, and exposure to construction hazards.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge and ability to use the following forming systems: Aluminum Gang Form, Simons, EFCO, Stick Frames, Wood Forms
- Good general knowledge of construction practices
- Ability to read and understand rebar plans and be able to place rebar curtains and mats
- Ability to survey grid-lines and elevations
- Regular attendance required
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, including equipment operational and/or safety manuals
- Excellent interpersonal communication and team work skills
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Ascending and descending ladders or stairs is required
- Movement on uneven terrain is occasionally required
