Job Summary
Carpenter at Hilton Sandestin Beach responsible for constructing, maintaining, and dismantling structures, furniture, woodwork and related items throughout the facility, including doors, windows, ceilings, tile, sheetrock, and hardware. Requires use of shop equipment (table saw, drill press, band saw, planer, router), ability to measure and diagnose problems, read blueprints, build cabinets and furniture, and perform tasks such as lifting up to 80 lbs and working at heights. Must have five years of carpentry/woodworking experience (including cabinet making) and knowledge of local building codes; strong English communication and math skills; hospitality environment experience desirable. This is a full-time hotel-maintenance role with potential to support other trades, and may involve varied schedules due to seasonal hotel operations.
Required Qualifications
- Five years of carpentry/woodworking experience
- Experience in cabinet making
- Blueprint reading / ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Knowledge of local building codes
- Ability to operate power and hand tools (table saw, drill press, band saw, planer, router)
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work at heights (ladders)
- Ability to climb ladders and perform physically demanding tasks in a hotel maintenance setting
- Basic English language communication skills to read blueprints, communicate with coworkers, and comprehend assignments
