Job Summary
Independent carpentry role responsible for completing all construction for sets and scenic props for theatre productions. Duties include fabrication in wood, metal, and plastic; cabinetry-level finishing; participating in build, load-in, and strike phases; maintaining an organized workspace and tools; ensuring safety compliance; and collaborating with the Technical Director and LU’s mission. Able to read and interpret construction drawings, operate standard and special tools safely, and contribute as a team member within Liberty University’s Christian environment. May involve travel to local and on-campus locations and occasionally working nights or weekends.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in theatrical or general carpentry
- Strong experience in carpentry, understanding different construction methods
- Expertise of standard, power, and stationary tools, and safe operation of those tools
- Reading and understanding construction drafting
