Job Summary
Carpenter (Carpenter II) responsible for hands-on framing walls, hanging doors, installing flooring, and finishing touches on construction projects. Will read plans, measure with precision, ensure quality and safety standards, mentor junior crew members, support on-site problem-solving, and contribute to project success through craftsmanship, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols. On-site duties include drywall, framing, installation of doors, trim, cabinetry, and finishing; use of hand and power tools; reading blueprints; ensuring accurate material planning and measurements; guiding others to maintain high standards and efficiency on a Canadian job site.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, carpentry, or restoration
- Enrolled in or completion of a carpenter apprenticeship program, an asset
- Proven ability to read blueprints and apply construction math for accurate measurements and material planning
- Skilled in drywall, framing, finishing, and installation of doors, trim, and cabinetry
- Proficient in operating hand and power tools and maintaining a clean, safe job site
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to mentor others
- Proficient in using mobile devices and Microsoft Office applications
- Valid full class driver's license and clear driver's abstract depending
- Fit test and other safety certifications
- Must be able to work overtime, on weekends and participate in rotating on-call schedule
- Ability to complete work activities that may involve material handling, lifting, climbing, and the use of personal protective equipment including respirators, safety footwear, and other required gear
