Job Summary
Measure materials, cut boards and timbers, mark cutting lines, study blueprints, and assemble wood or metal framework structures using bolts, nails, or screws. Communicate with supervisors, peers, and subordinates via telephone, written form, email, or in person. Perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials in an outdoor heavy highway and bridge environment in Florida. Work ten hours daily, five to six days per week around heavy traffic areas.
Required Qualifications
- at least 4 - 5 years experience working in heavy highway / bridge environment
- ability to perform physical activities to include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
- good communication skills to provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
- availability to work, on average, ten (10) hours per day, five days (and occasionally six days) per week
- outdoor work capability in Florida heat and rain
- ability to work around heavy highway traffic areas
