Carpenter/Carpenter Apprentice (Shop Based)

Job Summary
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine requirements and start jobs within allotted time frames. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood materials and drywall to build floor beams, walls, partitions, and prefabricated roof trusses. Operate power tools including saws, drills, and air tools while completing daily hazard assessments and maintaining a clean work area. Instruct apprentices and helpers as required while adhering to all safety procedures and wearing personal protective equipment. This shop-based role involves occasional travel to job sites for installation support.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of the Carpenter Trade Certification from an accredited Educational Institute
- Minimum of 5 years' carpentry-related work experience on construction sites
- Considered to have extensive knowledge of the carpentry trade
- Able to operate all hand and power tools required to perform tasks specific to trade
- Able to demonstrate organizational, time-management and decision-making skills
- Able to manage a fluctuating workload and set priorities to meet deadlines
- Able to work individually and as a team member able to safely and comfortably carry out physical duties
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to health/safety of self and co-workers
- Drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment
