Job Summary
Carpenter responsible for fabricating, constructing, and repairing structural woodwork and wood products on residential construction projects by following blueprints and instructions. Provides support to in-house trades and coordinates with onsite Superintendent and Foreman. Duties include shaping and cutting materials, laying out work from plans, fabricating/installing structures (windows, doors, trims, cabinetry, stairs), using hand and power tools, and maintaining safety on site. Requires reading plans, attention to detail, ability to work independently or with supervision, and the physical ability to perform tasks outdoors in varying weather; strong teamwork and communication with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- Three (3) years experience in rough and finish carpentry at a residential construction company, preferably in upscale/luxury construction, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors/laborers to their understanding
- Able to provide legible written and verbal communication
- Possess an understanding of residential construction practices
- Knowledge of related tools, techniques, equipment, and materials
- Able to see details at close range (within a few feet)
- Ability to work independently or with little direction
- Demonstrate experience and passion for client satisfaction
- Good team attitude and flexible to do a variety of tasks with a sense of urgency
- Able to perform physically demanding work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Have necessary tools to complete assignments both rough and finish
- Must have reliable transportation that can transport tools and materials safely between jobsites.
