Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •High school diploma or GED equivalence
• •Six or more months carpentry experience
• •Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to construct marine vessels
• •Knowledge of ship terminology
• •Knowledge of safety
• •Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
• •Ability to read and comprehend written, verbal, or diagram form
• •Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form
• •Ability to read and understand blueprints
• •Knowledge of safe operation and use of hand and power tools
• •Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
• •Ability to read a tape measure
• •Ability to work above ground at heights of a minimum of 50 feet aloft
• •Ability to work from scaffolding
• •Ability to work from man-lifts
