Job Summary
Carpenter 1 executes general carpentry and concrete tasks on diverse construction projects (new builds, renovations, and other project types). Responsibilities include concrete form setting, concrete placement (bucket, chute, pump), basic concrete finishing with floats/trowels, framing or forming basics, in-wall and roof blocking, installation of doors/frames/hardware, safety railing and general safety items, PPE compliance, and adherence to JE Dunn safety standards. Requires knowledge of concrete and carpentry hand tools, layout and construction math, ability to work with minimal guidance, effective communication, teamwork, and a readiness to work when scheduled. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, may involve non-traditional hours, and may require respirator use and comfortable work at various heights and confined spaces. Education and apprenticeship/training preferred; 0-2 years experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Apprentice and/or Vocational/Technical/Trade training (Preferred)
- 0-2 years experience in specific trade (Preferred)
- 0-2 years commercial construction experience (Preferred)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- May be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs
- Must have reliable transportation
- May require use of respirator
- Must be comfortable working at projected heights, narrow workspaces, various depths (trenches)
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Experience: 0-2 years (Preferred)
