Cargo Tank Maintenance

Job Summary
Maintain and repair cargo tank tractors/trailers per DOT/FHWA standards; perform preventative maintenance, 90-day inspections, internal/external/upper coupler inspections, heat system, leakage, vacuum/pressure tests, and vapor tightness tests (EPA Method 27); diagnose malfunctions, replace parts, perform repairs on brakes, hubs, bearings, seals, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, and hydraulic systems; use technical publications/maintenance software for schedules and parts; operate a yard hostler to move trailers; request/receive parts as needed; adhere to OSHA/environmental policies; maintain/work area and perform welding as required; role requires reading/writing/speaking English proficiently; physical capability to handle up to 75 lbs and work in a shop environment; 0% travel under normal circumstances; benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k), disability, life/accident coverage, EAP, and other employee programs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Experience in the use of inspection and test equipment used for cargo tank inspections
- Knowledge of vehicle theory, principles, and repair relating to diesel engines, air, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to effectively inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (49CFR HM180.407)
- Knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures
- Ability to use vehicle diagnostic software
- Ability to effectively inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)
- English language proficiency
