Job Summary
Cargo Handler role at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) performing safe build-up and breakdown of freight pallets, reading airway bills, manifests, and freight sorting via forklift to storage areas; may handle dangerous goods; operate small commercial vehicles with required valid driver’s license; cross-trained to support various operations; strong emphasis on safety policies, PPE, and compliant procedures; responsibilities include locating items, loading/unloading, counting, and ensuring conformance to standards; forklift and related warehouse duties with on-the-job training provided.
Required Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Must have current driver’s license with no violations over the past 5 years.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English proficiently.
- Must pass driver’s test with the Department of Airports and obtain a driver’s license to drive on Airport Operational Area (AOA).
- Must pass an FBI background check and obtain a custom seal.
- Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds on a continuous basis.
- Must pass pre-employment medical and a drug test.
