Job Summary
Cargo Agent responsible for compiling documents on import/export cargo shipments, expediting shipments from warehouse, and assisting customers in tracking shipments. Will handle cash transactions, communicate with consignee/representatives about arrival dates and customs clearances, meet flights to exchange documents, authorize final cargo release, prepare invoices for charges, and work with government agencies to clear shipments while ensuring TSA/CBP/FAA rules are followed. Must be highly organized, able to multi-task, and possess strong client-service orientation, with proficiency in 10-key and 35 wpm typing, and English literacy. Role requires lifting up to 35 lb, ability to obtain badges/seals, and availability for variable shifts including weekends and holidays; a one-year college certificate or technical school and dangerous goods certification are required, along with relevant customer service experience and Microsoft product proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- One-year college certificate or technical school, six months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certification in dangerous good awareness/acceptance
- Must be able to pass pre-employment testing to include drug testing and a physical
- Possess and maintain valid US driver's license
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals
- Proficiency with 10key and typing 35 wpm
- Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
- Previous customer service experience preferred
