Job Summary
Lead Cargo Agent at Menzies Aviation directs Cargo Agents at the front counter or airline accounts, provides day-to-day work direction, and serves as a backup to the Customer Service Supervisor. Responsibilities include training and onboarding employees, enforcing company policies and procedures (including security, cash handling, and uniform guidelines), coordinating with other departments to resolve service issues, maintaining inventory of freight for accurate accounting, adhering to safety and security practices, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires lifting up to 35lbs, English proficiency, valid US driver’s license, ability to obtain security badges, and flexible availability including weekends/holidays. Certification in dangerous goods and prior lead-level customer service experience are noted preferences.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Possess and maintain valid US driver's license
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing to include drug testing and a physical
- Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
- Must be comfortable lifting 35lbs repetitively
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all required Airports and Custom badges/seals
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
- One-year college certificate or technical school, six months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certification in dangerous good awareness/acceptance
- Previous customer service experience in a lead role preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft products
