Job Summary
Carer Recruitment Officer responsible for recruiting, assessing, and supporting prospective carers as part of the Community Connections and Engagement service. Conduct initial phone interviews, home visits, and comprehensive carer assessments to strengthen care for children and young people. Recruit foster carers from the community with culturally responsive approaches, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and deliver training modules for carers and approved carers. Maintain supportive engagement throughout the assessment process, ensure trauma-informed and culturally safe care, and contribute to carer pathways that recognise cultural identity, family connections, and community belonging. Onboard and train new staff, contribute to ongoing development, and ensure compliance with organisational standards and relevant government requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a current C Class Queensland Driver's Licence
- Current Working with Children Check, 'Blue Care' and Child History Screening, 'LCS2'
- Hods or is willing to obtain a First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Desirable: Qualifications or knowledge related to Child Protection
- Desirable: Diploma in Community Services, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, or a related field
- Desirable: Experience in casework using strengths-based, culturally safe, and trauma-informed approaches
