Job Summary
Assist participants with bathing, grooming, toileting, and feeding while monitoring vital signs like weight, blood pressure, and pulse. Accompany individuals to medical appointments and coordinate meals and nutritional supplements per their Plan of Care. Maintain a clean Day Center environment, apply therapeutic activity modalities, and ensure participant safety through fall precautions and wandering management. Report immediate changes in health or behavior to the Therapeutic Services Coordinator and complete accurate medical documentation. Work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 2:30 pm, with one afternoon hour for meetings or showers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least one (1) year of experience working with a frail or elderly population
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- DOJ and FBI criminal history background check clearance
- Pre-employment physical
- PPD skin test (TB screening)
- Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on occasion
- Ability to see, hear, and communicate clearly
- Sound verbal communication skills
- Listening skills
- Basic knowledge of computers and web-based applications such as timekeeping, training, and email programs
- Ability to complete duties within an agreed upon time frame
- Ability to adjust personal schedule if required
- Ability to adapt appropriately to change of priorities and workload
- Ability to maintain a consistent level of productivity
- Ability to understand detailed requirements in working activities
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude
- Patience and compassion in work with participants
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA)
- Injections Certificate
- COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccines
- Experience preferably providing personal care in a health facility or in-home setting
