Job Summary
Assist elderly residents with activities of daily living and respond to resident calls in a timely manner. Document and notify the Resident Care Coordinator and nurse of any changes or concerns in residents' conditions. Perform all duties assigned by the Administrator or Resident Care Coordinator. Maintain a positive and compassionate attitude while communicating effectively with residents, staff, and family members. This part-time role in Sunridge's long-term care facility offers flexible schedules, shift differentials for night and weekend shifts, and paid training opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Basic computer skills
- Self-Starter and able to work independently
- Completion of a state-approved CNA certification training course
- Ability to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively
- High tolerance for working under pressure and handling critical situations with a cool head
- Good communication skills, such as being able to communicate effectively with residents, staff, family members, and professionals. Including the ability to communicate sensitive information with empathy (bedside manner)
- Possess a love for the elderly
- Have a positive and compassionate attitude
- A background check is required for this position upon hire as well as food handlers permit, CNA certification, CPR/First Aid certification, and a TB test
