Job Summary
Conduct daily activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, cooking, light housekeeping, and medication reminders for seniors in autonomous, semi-autonomous, and total care conditions. Provide transportation services, exercise assistance, and conversation to support mental stimulation and client autonomy. Assist with physical transfers and maintain the overall well-being of elderly clients while delivering personalized care plans. This role requires a compassionate professional with 2-3 years of experience, a nursing background, and a valid Canadian work permit. Located in Victoria and White Rock, this position offers competitive pay starting at $21/hour with flexible scheduling and paid training opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Must have some form of training, eg. Nursing
- High school or college diploma
- Must have at least 2-3 years of experience caring for the elderly
- Must have experience dealing with Clients with dementia
- Must have a good command of English
- No history of criminal background
- Must be compassionate
- Must be honest
- Must be reliable
- Must be confident
- Must be highly sociable
- Must feel confident in your ability to engage the Client in activities and conversation
- Must be able to cook
- Proof of eligibility to work in Canada (Canadian citizenship or open work permit)
- 3 professional references including telephone numbers
- Ability to reliably travel to client homes and office location(s)
- Ability to safely perform client transfers with weight-bearing requirements, contingent upon client condition and needs
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday
