Job Summary
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility while supporting them during mealtimes, recreational activities, and daily routines. Respond promptly to resident needs and call lights, ensuring safety and attentiveness at all times. Assist with transferring and positioning residents using proper safety techniques, maintain a clean and organized living environment, and monitor residents' health and behavior to report changes to nursing or leadership staff. Build positive relationships with residents and families, encourage participation in social and wellness activities, and collaborate with nurses, dining, and life enrichment staff to coordinate holistic care. Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay current on care practices. This role requires standing, walking, lifting, and bending throughout the shift, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Dependable and flexible with shift availability (including weekends or holidays as needed)
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and move throughout the shift
- Able to assist with resident transfers and physical support using proper techniques
- Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or personal care assistant preferred, but not required
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to complete training upon hire
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to provide care with kindness, patience, and respect for residents' dignity and independence
