Job Summary
The Caregiver is responsible for providing direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting them with activities of daily living including personal care, medication administration, and community integration. Responsibilities also include documenting progress, maintaining relationships with the individuals and their families, and ensuring a safe work environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with a valid driver’s license and prior human services experience. Employees will assist individuals during medical appointments, manage health care needs, and participate in training and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Six months of experience in human services preferred
- Working knowledge of computers
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- All state-required training(s) and certification(s) completed in mandated timeframes
Additional Requirements
- Must submit to drug testing prior to employment
- Must submit to criminal background checks
- Must be determined not to be disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals served
- Must agree to name check against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
