Job Summary
Assist a male senior with personal care, toileting, incontinence care, and safe mobility transfers using equipment like wheelchairs or walkers. Provide meal preparation and assistance while observing and reporting any changes in the client's condition. Deliver meaningful companionship, social interaction, and respite support for family members to encourage the client's independence. Handle light housekeeping duties including vacuuming, dishwashing, laundry, and bathroom cleaning to maintain a safe home environment. Offer reminders and assistance with self-administered medications per the care plan. This role requires Italian language proficiency and English literacy, with a flexible schedule and competitive salary offered by ComForCare Home Care Halton.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to communicate in Italian
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must meet the required standard on the PSW skills assessment
- Must meet the required standard on the DEARS Drugs and Ethics assessment
- Valid driver's licence and access to an insured vehicle, or reliable transportation to the client's home
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a provincially recognized Personal Support Worker, Certified Nurse Aide, Health Care Aide, or equivalent program
- Previous experience supporting seniors
