Job Summary
Provide comprehensive care to Memory Care residents per the Care Plan, assisting with activities of daily living including grooming, bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, transfers, and incontinent care. Serve as a loving companion and act as a liaison to family members when necessary. Escort residents to medical appointments, errands, and offsite activities. Recognize signs of dementia, use mechanical devices for transfers, and maintain accurate documentation of care statistics and incident reports. Encourage socialization by assisting with group activity setup and cleanup. This role supports a collaborative team of healthcare professionals in Silvergate San Marcos's award-winning Memory Care Suites, ensuring a safe, home-like environment for residents living with Alzheimer's and dementia.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- First Aid Certification
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Enjoy working with senior citizens
- Ability to take directions from supervisor and follow through to completion with task
- Ability to respond effectively in an emergency or crisis situation
- Schedule flexibility and ability to work weekends and holidays
- Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, push, pull, sit and stand on feet for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must pass background check (or have approved exemption)
- Must pass drug test, pre-employment physical and TB test
