Job Summary

Caregiver to support residents in a Memory Care setting, providing person-centered assistance and supervision to individuals living with dementia or cognitive impairments. Responsibilities include helping with ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, continence, mobility, transfers, hygiene), offering emotional support for confusion or agitation, supervising to promote safety and prevent wandering, encouraging participation in activities, assisting with meals and feeding as needed, monitoring residents’ condition and reporting concerns, taking and documenting vital signs and observations when trained, maintaining clean and homelike spaces, following individualized care plans, infection-control practices, and resident rights, communicating with residents, families, coworkers, and supervisors, maintaining confidentiality, and, after successful Med-Tech training, possibly assisting with medication-related duties; requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and a flexible schedule.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work in a licensed residential care setting and successfully complete required DOJ/FBI criminal background clearance and Live Scan requirements.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to obtain certification within the required onboarding period.
  • Prior experience providing direct care and supervision to older adults with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other cognitive impairments in a residential care, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, home care, or similar setting preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to understand and follow individualized service plans, safety procedures, infection-control practices, and dementia-related behavioral support approaches.
