Job Summary
Assist residents with activities of daily living including dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene while serving meals at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Provide light housekeeping, laundry, and maintain a clean, safe environment by following established cleaning schedules. Interact with residents and families with empathy, reporting changes in health or emotional wellbeing to the supervisor. Initiate leisure activities from the calendar and respond promptly to resident or visitor requests. Ensure residents sign out when leaving and comply with safety protocols during emergencies or inclement weather.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to two years related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

- Ability to demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates, and management
- Ability to refrain from discussing resident care issues with families, visitors, and refers all inquiries to immediate supervisor

- Ability to willingly take on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties
