Job Summary
Provide personalized assistance and support tailored to the unique needs of Memory Care residents, implementing memory care techniques to stimulate cognitive function. Assist with grooming, meals, personal hygiene, mobility, toileting, and medication as required per care plan. Monitor dining room activities, verify resident identification, and report all incidents, health changes, or hazardous conditions to the Health Services Director. Maintain resident documentation, charting, and Alert Charting while keeping work areas clean. Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship, adapting duties to changes in resident needs, staffing, and working conditions. Report all complaints and suggestions as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare settings.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, enabling effective interaction with residents and staff through both verbal and written means.
- Utilize electronic devices and software provided.
- Understanding of basic healthcare principles/practices, safety & infection control measures.
- Awareness of common health conditions affecting older adults.
- Ability to provide physical assistance and support to residents with mobility challenges.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documenting observations.
- Capability to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations, with a pleasant demeanor.
- Problem-solving abilities to promptly address concerns or complaints, with the ability to quickly pivot from one task to the next.
- Maintain ongoing education and training, attending all departmental & in-staff services as required.
