Job Summary
The Respite Caregiver provides direct personal care and related services to clients in the client's home. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, skin/hair/oral care), transfers and ambulation, companionship, meal preparation and eating assistance, toileting, medication reminders, and maintaining client records via the EVV system. The position supports enabling families by providing respite during caregiver breaks and ensuring client safety and well-being. Requires CPR and First Aid certification, 1+ year of personal care experience, ability to lift and assist clients, clear communication and basic math, and the ability to work during regular business hours in a part-time field role with travel to patients’ homes. Overtime is not permitted unless approved by the Respite Manager. All services conducted inside the client’s home.
Required Qualifications
- Current CPR and Basic First Aid.
- Current and satisfactory report on pre-employment physical examination including TB Screening Test or chest X-ray as required by Agency policies and procedures.
- 1+years’ experience performing personal care services.
- Able to walk, bend, stoop, and lift objects appropriate for job performance.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, read, write legibly, spell correctly, perform basic mathematics, understand and carry out service plans.
