Job Summary
Respite Caregiver provides direct personal care and related services to clients in their home, assisting with activities of daily living, transfers, companionship, and meal preparation. The role requires CPR and First Aid certification, 1+ year of personal care experience, ability to lift and assist clients, and effective communication. Tasks include bathing support, mobility assistance, medication reminders, documenting services in the EVV system, and ensuring client safety during visits. Work is part-time with standard weekday hours and potential weekend availability; services occur entirely in clients' homes, and travel to patient locations is required.
Required Qualifications
- CPR
- Basic First Aid
- TB Screening Test or chest X-ray as required by Agency policies and procedures
- 1+ years experience performing personal care services
- Able to lift and assist clients as part of duties
- Ability to communicate effectively, read, write, and perform basic mathematics, understand and carry out service plans
- Able to perform activities of daily living
- Must be able to work in client’s home
- Must be available during regular business hours (M-F 9am-5pm) with weekend availability a plus
- Maintain credentials up to date
- EVV timekeeping system usage
- Overtime not permitted without approval by Respite Manager
