Job Summary
Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and ambulation. Monitor physical, mental, and behavioral changes, immediately reporting any shifts to licensed nursing staff. Utilize dementia care techniques to redirect confusion, maintain safety, and prevent wandering while promoting resident independence and dignity. Escort residents to meals, maintain clean living environments, and complete all required documentation accurately. Respond promptly to call lights and emergencies, follow infection prevention protocols, and participate in shift reports and mandatory training. Work Monday through Sunday with availability for overtime, adhering to California Title 22 regulations and resident rights requirements.
Required Qualifications
- CNA License
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current health screening and TB clearance
- Criminal background clearance as required by CDSS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous caregiving experience
- Experience working with older adults or people living with dementia
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic documentation skills
- Must be available to be scheduled Monday – Sunday
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary
- Must be able to push and pull wheelchairs
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to bend, kneel, squat, reach, and twist
- Must be able to assist with resident transfers
- Must be able to respond quickly during emergencies
- Must be able to follow California Title 22 regulations
- Must be able to follow resident rights requirements
- Must be able to maintain resident confidentiality
- Must be able to report suspected abuse immediately
- Must be able to complete all mandatory annual training
- Must be able to maintain required certifications
- Must be able to complete all required meetings and training
- Must be able to maintain excellent attendance and reliability
- Must be able to maintain accurate documentation
- Must be able to follow all company policies and Title 22 regulations
- Must be able to report changes in resident condition immediately
- Must be able to demonstrate professionalism and teamwork
