Job Summary

Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, incontinence care, ambulation, and eating. Monitor residents for changes in physical condition, mental status, mobility, and skin integrity, then promptly report observations to licensed nursing staff. Respond to call lights, redirect confused residents, maintain a safe environment, and complete all required documentation accurately. Escort residents to meals and activities while promoting social interaction and emotional well-being. Maintain resident rooms, change linens, and ensure equipment cleanliness. Work Monday through Sunday with availability for overtime, adhering to California Title 22 regulations and emergency procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current health screening and TB clearance
  • Criminal background clearance as required by CDSS
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary
  • Ability to push and pull wheelchairs
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach, and twist
  • Ability to assist with resident transfers
  • Ability to respond quickly during emergencies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic documentation skills
  • Must have open availability to be scheduled
  • Must be available for weekend, evening, holiday, and overtime work

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous caregiving experience preferred
  • Experience working with older adults or people living with dementia is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor
  • Ability to work with residents experiencing dementia
  • Ability to recognize changes in resident condition
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work with residents requiring varying levels of assistance
