Job Summary
The caregiver/home care aide role involves providing nonmedical services and assistance to elderly or disabled clients within their homes. Key responsibilities consist of executing care plans, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal hygiene, meal preparation, household services, and medication reminders. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, undergo a criminal background check, and demonstrate empathy and good communication skills. The position requires the ability to work independently and be self-directing, along with maintaining an active home care aide registration with the State of California.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Current registration with the State of California Home Care Aide Registry
- Completion of a criminal background check
- Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training
- Evidence of tuberculosis testing
- Ability to read and follow written instructions
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little supervision
- Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired
- Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance or reliable transportation
