Job Summary
Provide nonmedical in-home care to elderly or disabled clients per the care plan; assist with Activities of Daily Living, personal hygiene, transfers and ambulation, prescribed exercises, meal planning and preparation, assist with medications reminders, housekeeping, transportation, recordkeeping of services, and companionship. Must maintain active California Home Care Aide Registry status, complete required training, and meet state background checks; flexible part-time to full-time schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights; driving to appointments and client homes as needed; 18+ with appropriate training/registration. Also responsible for documenting care, reporting changes, and completing annual training as specified by policy and CA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Current registration with the State of California Home Care Aide Registry
- Criminal background check
- Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training
- Evidence of tuberculosis testing
- Ability to read and follow written instructions
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
- Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired
- Tact, patience, and good personal hygiene
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance and/or reliable transportation
