Job Summary
Provide social companionship and support with daily living tasks including feeding, medication reminders, bathing, grooming, light housekeeping, and meal preparation. Assist clients with transfers, provide overnight safety assistance, and arrange transportation to appointments and social outings. Work individually with seniors to enhance their quality of life while maintaining dignity and compassion. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel 15 miles required. At HomeWell Care Services of NWI, this role supports seniors who wish to age in place in their own homes.
Required Qualifications
- Pass a criminal background check (national and any required by the state)
- Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test
- Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance
- Ability to travel 15 miles for any scheduled shifts
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Are mature, caring, punctual and reliable
Desired Qualifications
- No healthcare certification is required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred
- Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus
- A compassionate heart for older adults
