Job Summary
Provide social companionship and support with daily living tasks including feeding, medication reminders, bathing, grooming, and meal preparation. Assist clients with transfers, handle light housekeeping and laundry, and facilitate transportation to appointments and social outings. Offer standby assistance for transfers and provide overnight safety support. This role offers flexible full or part-time schedules and includes opportunities for advancement. While no healthcare certification is strictly required, experience with dementia care and a valid driver's license are preferred. Candidates must be physically able to lift 25 lbs and travel up to 15 miles for shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Pass a criminal background check (national and any required by the state)
- Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test
- Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance
- Ability to travel 15 miles for any scheduled shifts
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Are mature, caring, punctual and reliable
Desired Qualifications
- No healthcare certification is required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred
- Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus
- Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone
- A compassionate heart for older adults
