Job Summary
Provide personal hygiene, mobility, and dining assistance to residents while encouraging independence and preserving dignity. Ensure compliance with Resident Rights, HIPAA, and infection control protocols by practicing Standard Precautions and reporting health changes or safety concerns immediately. Facilitate socialization and activity participation, manage laundry and room cleaning, and maintain a pleasant dining environment. Respond promptly to calls for assistance and communicate respectfully with residents, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to speak and understand the English language
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the general public based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning
- Ability to be calm and level-headed in emergencies
- Well groomed, professional and possess ability to work harmoniously with other personnel
- Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing resident care practices
- Follows written and oral instructions
- Maintain patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as ability to handle residents, staff, and visitors, based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning
- Must possess, at a minimum, a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must have current CPR/First Aid certifications
- Completion of state approved Caregiver program, as required by state regulation
- Must meet age requirements according to community policy and state regulations
