Job Summary
Support residents to maintain their independence, dignity, and wellbeing through daily checks, medication assistance, and meal service. Maintain a safe environment by completing cleaning, housekeeping, and laundry duties while contributing to accurate shift handovers and records. Participate in day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts as rostered within a rotating schedule. This permanent part-time role involves 32 hours per week at Freeman Court, an independent living community for older people.
Required Qualifications
- The legal right to work in New Zealand
- A current First Aid Certificate and/or aged care qualification (advantageous)
- Previous caregiving, aged care, healthcare, support work, or community support experience
- A compassionate, respectful, and patient approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good observation, reporting, and record-keeping skills
- A reliable and trustworthy work ethic
- The ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergency situations
- An understanding of resident dignity, privacy, and wellbeing
- Participate in day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts as rostered
- Employment offers will be subject to successful completion of a criminal record check, self-declaration process, and two reference checks
