Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect personal care to clients in the home setting under the direction of a registered nurse or therapist. Utilize safety measures during care delivery and maintain effective communication with supervisors regarding client conditions. Document and submit accurate accounts of services, observe clients for behavioral changes, and recognize emergencies while adhering to all agency policies and state regulations. Recognize that prohibited tasks include administering medication, changing sterile dressings, or performing procedures not in the plan of care. Complete required background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
Required Qualifications
- HHA certification or CNA license
- CPR or BLS certification
- Reliable transportation to travel to clients' homes
- Must demonstrate a satisfactory level of competency evidenced by evaluation
- Adequate health status to perform described duties
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate with clients and staff
- Must meet personnel qualifications
- Successful completion of at least 75 hours of classroom and practical training with 16 hours of supervised practical training
