Job Summary
Caregiver role focused on providing personal care and psychosocial support to residents. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), housekeeping, cooking, and engaging residents in activities; developing supportive relationships with residents and families; maintaining daily records and reporting changes to the Health and Wellness Director; facilitating socialization and meaningful interactions; participating in monthly staff meetings or care conferences; administering medications as trained and delegated by nursing staff; handling resident laundry and general housekeeping; upholding infection-control practices and safety. Requires high school diploma or GED, caregiver experience with dementia, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, criminal background clearance, good health, reliable transportation, and strong communication and computer skills.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum qualification of high school diploma or GED
- Must have experience as a caregiver and working with individuals diagnosed with Dementia
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Infections control training and no communicable diseases
- OSHA blood-borne Pathogen standards awareness
- Able to lift more than 50 pounds and use proper lifting techniques
- Pass criminal background checks
- Must be in good health
- Reliable transportation
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Basic computer knowledge
- Duties include ADL assistance, housekeeping, meals, activities, medications after training
- Attend staff meetings and care conferences
- Maintain resident records and report changes
- Administer medications after nursing staff delegation
