Job Summary
Administer or assist with medication administration according to physician orders and document all actions on the medication administration record. Provide physical and psychosocial care to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living, mobility, and personal hygiene. Conduct change of shift reports, maintain security of medication carts and narcotic keys, and perform accurate narcotic counts. Monitor residents for changes in physical or cognitive status, report emergencies promptly, and ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols. Escort residents, assist with dining, and complete housekeeping tasks as assigned. Work the 2nd and 3rd shifts at The Highlands, a facility dedicated to enriching the lives of aging residents through compassionate, resident-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Satisfactory completion of state-required education/certificates/testing in relation to medication aides as well as the Company Medication Aide Skills Competency Checklist.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
- Be in good physical health and free of communicable diseases.
- Lifting, bending, and pushing medication cart about residence is required.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Completion of drug testing and criminal background check upon hire and upon request of supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Assisted Living preferred.
