Job Summary

Assist residents with activities of daily living including dressing, grooming, peri-care, toileting, and hygiene. Serve and assist residents in the dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while encouraging independence. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment by performing daily general housekeeping, laundry, and light housekeeping duties. Observe and report changes in resident health, emotional wellbeing, and safety hazards to the supervisor. Respond promptly to resident and family requests, ensure residents sign out when leaving, and comply with HIPAA regulations. Participate in leisure activities, emergency response, and mandatory trainings while mentoring new employees.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • one to two years related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

  • Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates, and management
  • Refrains from discussing resident care issues with families, visitors, and refers all inquiries to immediate supervisor
  • Assists with training of new employees
  • Assists in mentoring new employees
  • Responsible for without asking, takes the initiative in work, seeks out additional information, offers solutions, and suggestions
  • Responsible for willingly taking on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties
