Job Summary
Assist clients with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while supporting mobility and transfers. Prepare meals, manage light housekeeping and laundry, and provide medication reminders alongside transportation and errands. Offer companionship and emotional support to seniors and homebound individuals in the West Louis County area. Work flexible shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, with every other weekend availability required. Minimum 30 hours monthly availability and at least one year of caregiving experience are needed. Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and ability to lift 25 lbs are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Auto insurance coverage
- Ability to work every other weekend
- Minimum 30 hours of availability per month
- At least 1 year of professional caregiving, CNA, or home care experience
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and kneel for extended periods
- Ability to climb stairs and reach overhead
- Comfortable working in homes with pets or smokers
- Ability to use proper safety equipment (gloves, masks, etc.)
- Ability to read and follow care instructions and safety guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with dementia or Alzheimer's care is a plus
