Job Summary
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including dressing, grooming, peri-care, toileting, and hygiene while encouraging independence. Serve residents during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and perform daily general housekeeping, laundry, and light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment. Interact with residents, families, and visitors with empathy, kindness, and respect, responding promptly to requests for assistance. Observe and report changes in resident health, emotional wellbeing, and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Ensure residents and responsible parties sign out when leaving the community and comply with HIPAA regulations. Participate in leisure activities, trainings, and emergency response duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to two years related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
